Southeast Polk Dollars for Scholars® is part of a nationwide network of  community-based scholarship foundations, 87 of which are in Iowa. It is a program of Scholarship America®, the nation's largest non-profit private-sector scholarship and educational assistance organization.

On Wednesday, May 14, 2014, the auditorium at Southeast Polk High School was filled with anxious students and proud families and friends as Dollars for Scholars awarded over 350 scholarships, totaling $270,000.  It is what the community so generously works for the entire year, celebrates in an evening, and begins the process again the next day!

Donations this past year came from so many sources.  Some of the events that generated a great deal of our scholarship money were: The Dollars for Scholars Dinner and Auction in the fall, various golf tournaments, Southeast Polk Elementary Hat Day, Altoona HyVee 3% of receipts weekend, eatery fundraisers such as Pizza Ranch, Bianchi Boys, Culver's, and Over the Top ice cream, and Southeast Polk Employees payroll deduction donations.

Thanks to all of you who supported these in an effort to contribute to Southeast Polk Dollars for Scholars.
